Water conservation!
(A Teacher's Idea)

by Miss Jamie Hutchings
(Poway,CA,USA)

During my tener as an afterschool instructor I had my 17 third graders enter a nationwide contest for an entry on a calendar for kids about water conservation.
After getting approval from my immediate supervisor, and discussing the many different ways the human race could (particularly families), conserve water at home we drew posters and voted in the top three ideas for water conservation. The children were very inventive and reached beyond the realm in which I thought they were capable. It was a fun and exciting experience I think for all that were involved. None of our posters made it into the calendar but both I and the Principle of the school were awarded Honorable Certificates for our merit.
