I think that recycling is one of the biggest ways that we can help our planet. There are so many things that we can recycle and we dont. I learned that Americans on a whole only recycle about 25 percent of all recyclable materials. That is a lot of unrecycled materials, combine that thought with another: it takes less water and energy to recycle materials into "new" ones than it does to make the items from scratch! Think about it. We can recycle plastics, paper, glass, and so much more but we choose not to. I found out that some cities don't allow you to recycle some things! I am not happy because that just makes that city's carbon foot print much more bigger than it should be. The simple act of recycling recyclable materials can produce a much much bigger result than one can guess. I say that we should all try to do it! whats the worst that can happen... we help to save the earth? I am just 15 years old, but with the help of kids of all ages I believe that we can really make a difference in the world. We can help fight back on pollution, reduce our carbon foot prints, and help to prevent any increase in global warming. With the combination of recycling and other "green" projects, I believe that all of this and more is possible. That is why recycling is so important. Click here to read or post comments.
