Recycling Heros!

by Patricia
(Oregon)

Our classroom (4th grade) has been hard at work outfitting the entire school with well-marked recycling bins. The cafeteria didn't even offer recycling before our class went into action. The children have learned about the decomposition rates of garbage in landfills, compared plastic and aluminum recycling and talked about how to do without so much packaging in the first place. Becoming aware of all the packaging we use has been a real eye-opener to them!
